Kindergarten at Roselands
Starting school is an exciting time for your child. In the Kindergarten program, your child will develop their skills and abilities through inquiry and intentional play-based learning that includes math, science and literacy. Teachers and early childhood educators plan learning experiences where children are actively engaged in learning and thinking creatively.
Children who will be 4 years old by December 31, 2025, can start Junior Kindergarten in September 2025.
Roselands Boundaries
Roselands' boundaries changed in 2022 after becoming a K-8 school in 2020. The image on the right shows the new boundaries for attendance. Roselands is closed to out-of-area admissions.

What does my child need for school?
A standard-sized backpack with enough room for your child’s lunch bag, library books, communication bag (teacher provided), and crafts from school. Preschool backpacks are not big enough. Please ensure your child's backpack is an appropriate size. It should not too big for them and the straps should be adjusted to their size to avoid posture issues and slipping off their shoulders.
A durable, reusable water bottle that they can easily open to drink. Your child can refill the bottle at school if necessary.
A nut-free, littler-free lunch, and two healthy snacks. Please do not send juice or pop to avoid sugar rushes and crashes!
Please use reusable containers where possible.
Please ensure that your child can open and close their lunch containers. Teachers cannot open each child's lunch container - they stick to a tight schedule!
A pair of indoor running shoes that your child can put on themselves. We do not recommend laces - velcro straps are best! Your child will have their own cubby and leave their indoor shoes in the classroom.
No sandals or Crocs!
A change of clothes (underwear, socks, pants, top, all pieces labelled) in a large zip-lock bag.
PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING! Shoes, jackets, sweaters, backpack, lunch bag, water bottle - we mean everything! Purchase labels through Mabel's Labels and Roselands receives a % of sales! Enter 'Roselands' on the Mabel's Label's fundraising page, choose 'Roselands Public School' and shop 'til you drop!
You do not need to purchase any supplies for your child. The school provides notebooks, pencils, pencil crayons, and other supplies they need in the classroom.
